News article about our course “Critical Thinking and Complex Systems: Challenges and Futures”!

Over the last two years or so, I have been working with a team of colleagues from all across LU to develop a course to prepare students for their future as professionals and citizens in the polycrisis (big and slightly intimidating task!).

LTH communicator Andreas M. Qassim has written a nice article about it for LTH’s news, go read it over there! (Featured image credit also Andreas M. Qassim. The development of that course was also the topic of our presentation a while ago at Södertörn University, and we are currently finalizing the proceedings where we write more about the process, the concepts and literature we built it on, and the course we ended up with, so stay tuned! Of course also for follow-up data and reflection once we have students taking it… But it feels big that this is now out in the open and official, excited to start teaching on the course soon!

And the next challenge for me related to that course — which I am excited about! — is that we will need to train a lot of teachers to teach in ways most of them are not used to yet, about topics they aren’t an expert in, and then get them all to work together as a team, while iteratively improving the course. It will be fun!
