#WaveWatchingWednesday

Here comes the recap of two very exciting trips: To the 31nd AIDA World Championship in Pool Freediving, and to Kreidesee in Germany, where we did some freediving ourselves. Enjoy!

First, the ferry trip to Lithuania!

The pool in Kaunas.

Documenting team @swe_freediving starting their first training day at #32ndaidawch

… and collecting good ideas for how to perfect @active.divers competition setup for the next #aidavikingapnea

Just another Monday in the office… With @subaquapupper doing live commentary on the #32ndAIDAWCh and great views of amazing divers like @paulaunderpressure doing awesome dives :)

Came for the freediving, stayed for the wave watching… Just kidding, it’s amazing to watch so many incredible divers live and in person! But this is a #wavewatching account and not a fan page, so head over to @swe_freediving for updates on the @aidafreediving World Championship #32ndaidawch I am posting a lot over there!

Last evening in Kaunas and then wave watching while waiting for the ferry in Klaipeda. It has been an amazing trip!

Leaving Klaipeda

It’s been almost a week since I came back from the AIDA World Championship, but thanks to covid I’m only reporting now (luckily that only started when I was home again!). I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn from amazing judges (especially @naturalfreediving) and to see incredible dives, both up close and personal under training, from the commentator booth with @subaquapupper during the competition where I got to run the countdown and have an overview over the whole pool, and in video replays. In the latter, Team Sweden @swe_freediving was definitely overrepresented, showing up every day (both thanks to BOs and gold medals), and I am so grateful that this group of dedicated, kind, hard-working, and fun people welcomed me! You are all amazing, and even with the new STA world record going to Germany, you really are my team! ❤️

First scouting session of the day here at @tauchbasis_kreidesee! So excited to explore more after lunch!

Scary afternoon at @tauchbasis_kreidesee

So calm in the surface… That’s why we need the map to discover all the secrets hidden underneath!

A little buoy training today. Absolutely looooove the visibility here at @tauchbasis_kreidesee!

#letsgowavewatching

What can I say. Yes, I am slightly obsessed with this shark…

Evening wave watching

Some more sightseeing in Kreidesee

After a week of playing mostly above the thermocline at @tauchbasis_kreidesee, it was time to get a little more serious and do deeper dives for my CMAS certificate. Thanks to the support by safety @katarina.martensson and examiner @nillafredrika it was a piece of cake (or “easy!!” as David would say)! Thank you all for an amazing time, @active.divers!
