					<description><![CDATA[Thank you, as always. :-) I&#039;m increasingly coming to the conclusion that one of the problems (or reasons why there is no popular alternative to constructive alignment) is that - as I am just writing into a presentation to give in the UK - English (which dominates academic discourse) simply doesn&#039;t have a concept of &#039;bildung&#039;, so the only view of (disciplinary) education available is of knowledge acquisition, with no possibility to see university education as becoming. The only entry in the Shorter Oxford English dictionary is &#039;Bildungsroman - a novel dealing with one person&#039;s formative years or spiritual education&#039;, with the translation bildung = education (and &#039;formative&#039; implying childhood and teenage experiences). French has quite a selection of words to choose between for translating the English &#039;education&#039;, and Swedish has undervisning and utbildning (at least).]]></description>
