Sometimes people hear technical language and associate meanings that are not at all aligned with what the technical term actually means.

Imagine you see a sign saying “Notausgang”. You might know that “Ausgang” is german for “exit”. What does Not+Ausgang then mean? “No exit”? Nope, quite the opposite: “Emergency exit”!
